In a statement released on Thursday by Tope Oshunkeye, the Executive Head of Marketing at MultiChoice West Africa, it was announced that these changes took effect on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
As part of the rebranding initiative, the SuperSport Select Channel has been renamed to SuperSport Africa. Additionally, a new channel called SuperSport Action has been launched, which will feature an expanded array of sports content, including UFC matches and more Champions League games.
The updates for GOtv packages include the following modifications:
- In the GOtv Jinja and GOtv Jolli packages, SuperSport Africa will take the place of Select 2 (Channel 64).
- For the GOtv Max package, SuperSport Africa and SuperSport Africa 2 will replace Select 1 and Select 2 (Channels 63 and 64).
- On the GOtv Supa and SupaPlus bouquets, SuperSport Action will replace Select 3 (Channel 69).
Oshunkeye elaborated on the rationale behind these updates, stating, “The channel revamp is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our sports offering and provide customers with more unbeatable sports content that resonates with them.” He emphasized that the new channels will showcase premier sports action from around the globe, including local boxing, UFC events, in-depth analysis, and other engaging content tailored for the African audience.
He reaffirmed MultiChoice’s commitment to providing top-tier services, stating, “We remain dedicated to delivering the best sporting action to our customers and continuously exploring ways to delight them with more choices, exciting live content, and great value.”
Subscribers are encouraged to subscribe, reconnect, or upgrade their packages via the MyGOtv App or by calling *288#. They can also enjoy their favorite sports on the go using the GOtv Stream app.
