Keystone Bank Limited, a prominent financial institution in Nigeria, has reaffirmed the Central Bank of Nigeria's (CBN) assurance of its unwavering security, robustness, and resilience. The bank emphasizes that there are no intentions from the apex bank to revoke its license. Notably, Keystone Bank's retail banking services have garnered recognition for their exceptional quality and excellence.

In a statement released on Tuesday, signed by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Hassan Imam, the need for clarification arose due to the persistent dissemination of false information circulating on social media, particularly on WhatsApp.

Mr. Imam urged customers and stakeholders to dismiss these allegations as unfounded. He stated, “We want to clarify that we are financially strong and have consistently expanded our balance sheet while providing exceptional value to our stakeholders. We are actively pursuing legal measures against those who propagate false information and are dedicated to ensuring accountability.”

He further emphasized, “As a bank, we have maintained our operations from a position of financial strength, reliably fulfilling our obligations and adhering to all regulatory standards. Our retail banking services have been recognized for excellence, ranking second in the industry according to the KPMG BICX 2023 Report, and we were honored as the ‘Retail Bank of the Year’ at the Africa Industrial and Development Conference and Awards 2024.”

He also highlighted that the recent appointment of the Board of Directors by the Central Bank of Nigeria, which includes experienced bankers and professionals from various sectors, significantly enhances the bank's governance framework.
