Veteran actor Ejike Asiegbu is poised to make his return to the stage in the monumental play “Olu Akengbuwa” on December 30 in Warri, Delta State. Having originally portrayed this role in 2015, Asiegbu is eager to step back into character and is committed to delivering an outstanding performance.

The accomplished actor will be joined by other prominent figures in the industry, including Nobert Young, Peter Fatomilola, and Ibinabo Fiberesima, for this grand presentation of the epic narrative.

In a recent interview with NollyNow, Asiegbu expressed his enthusiasm about returning to the Warri kingdom. He is determined to leverage his extensive experience and distinctive skills to enhance the performance.

Asiegbu has conducted thorough research on the Warri Kingdom and its rulers, ensuring he is well-prepared to authentically portray his character. He will perform in the traditional Itsekiri language, which will add a layer of authenticity to the production.

Regarding his approach for this performance, Asiegbu stated, “I am bringing my act like never before.”

“I am also bringing my wealth of experience and using my lines to send appropriate messages and my expressions in a typical Itsekiri language. ‘Olu Akengbuwa’ tells the story of the 16th Olu of Warri, who was the longest occupier of the throne and the wealthiest of his time.
