The blaze engulfed the luxurious property, turning cherished belongings into mere remnants and leaving the actress in deep sorrow.
On Wednesday night, Aigbe took to her official Instagram account to convey her heartfelt gratitude that no one was harmed, despite the significant losses she endured, as she shared a video message.
“I am devastated, but I am thankful that no lives were lost. It is well,” she stated, prompting a wave of sympathy and support from her fans and peers.
Furthermore, investigative reports indicate potential preventability, exacerbating Aigbe's emotional distress.
However, some users on social media alleged that the recent disaster was a calculated move by Aigbe to generate publicity for her forthcoming film, ‘Thinline’. Others directed harsh insults at the actress, bringing up her marital status.
In response to these remarks, Afolabi shared an emotional video on Instagram, pleading with the public to cease the harassment directed at Aigbe.
The 46-year-old actress expressed her disbelief that anyone would assume her colleague would exploit such a tragic event for promotional purposes.
Afolabi further stressed that Aigbe requires support during this difficult time, rather than facing online hostility.
“I am begging on behalf of Mercy… she did not send me and I know she is always a strong woman. I just feel so bad that she has to go through this. Please guys any support you can give her at this time. Can you stop trolling her please?” she said.
“I know we are are human and nobody is perfect. We already discussed about the house. We have people who have told her they would support her. It is a big deal. If you want to think about everything that has burnt down including her properties, the house itself, the filming equipment.
“I cannot believe people are still trolling her. This is unfair. All she needs is you support. Forget whatever you guys might have against her. How can someone allow her house to burn to promote a movie.”
