The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has  announced that its Executive Chairman, Mr. Ayodele Subair, has been awarded an honorary doctorate in Business Administration by Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA).

Mr. Subair received this esteemed recognition during the university's 13th convocation ceremony and 25th anniversary celebration held on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

According to the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, this honor acknowledges Mr. Subair's significant contributions to the advancement of taxation in Nigeria and his exemplary leadership that has propelled the agency to remarkable achievements.

Under Dr. Subair’s strategic leadership, LIRS has achieved a remarkable revenue increase of 310%. His commitment to innovation and operational excellence has positioned LIRS as a model for effective tax administration in the nation.

In his acceptance remarks, Dr. Subair conveyed his sincere appreciation for the honor and underscored the transformative impact of education. He urged the graduates to act as catalysts for change and to advocate for education in their everyday lives.

He also encouraged the students to commit to lifelong learning, emphasizing their crucial role as future leaders, innovators, and change-makers whose efforts will significantly influence society.
