Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is expected to be sidelined for several weeks due to his recent injury.

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has announced that Mason Mount will be unavailable for several weeks due to a recent injury.

Due to a muscular problem, the midfielder was substituted 14 minutes into Sunday's 2-1 victory over Manchester City, receiving support from his teammates as he left the field.

This injury represents a further setback in Mount's career, which has been significantly hampered by injuries since his transfer to United from Chelsea last year. He has made only eight Premier League starts since the beginning of the previous season.

Amorim did not provide a definitive recovery timeframe for Mount, stating only that he will be unavailable for several weeks.

“I don’t know the exact date but he is going to be out for a long time. In that sense, it is part of football and we continue,” he said. “What I can do is to help ‘Mase,’ to teach him how to play our game when he is recovering.

“With Mason Mount, we are going to help him. It is really hard for the player to be out for so long and he’s trying really hard.”

Additionally, Victor Lindelof was substituted before halftime during United’s 4-3 defeat to Tottenham in the English League Cup on Thursday, and Luke Shaw is also unavailable due to a muscle injury.
