The four-time reigning Premier League champions have endured a challenging period, achieving only one victory and incurring eight defeats in their last eleven matches across all competitions.
Manager Pep Guardiola has pointed to injuries to key players, including Rodri, as contributing factors to the team's struggles, and the absence of Dias further exacerbates his challenges.
Guardiola revealed that Dias sustained his injury during the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday.
“After 75 minutes against United, he felt something. He’s a strong player and wanted to continue, but now he’s injured,” Guardiola stated at a news conference.
Additionally, goalkeeper Ederson is uncertain for Saturday’s match against Aston Villa, while John Stones, Mateo Kovacic, and Manuel Akanji may be available. Rico Lewis returns from suspension.
“The return of more players is certainly a positive,” Guardiola remarked.
