He argues that it is unfair to scorn those unable to purchase authentic designer products, stating, "Individuals who purchase replicas should continue to do so until they are able to afford genuine articles. A person wearing counterfeits today may well be wearing originals tomorrow."
His remarks follow recent incidents involving celebrities facing public criticism for wearing counterfeit designer brands.
Rahman Jago recently publicly criticized Oritse Femi for wearing counterfeit high-fashion items, and Olayinka Ashogbon accused Lyta of wearing fake designs from his own clothing line.
