Reports from British media indicate that the Germany international has suffered a hamstring tear, which is expected to result in an extended period on the sidelines. Arsenal has yet to officially confirm the injury.
The absence of Havertz would significantly limit manager Mikel Arteta's attacking options, especially with Gabriel Jesus ruled out for the remainder of the season due to ACL surgery.
Additionally, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are also unavailable due to hamstring injuries.
Arteta had aimed to bolster his forward line during the January transfer window, with Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins being a potential target.
“We had a clear intention to explore the opportunities to improve our squad with players that can impact it,” Arteta said after the window closed. “And we haven’t achieved that so we are disappointed in that sense.
“We’re going to have to be very flexible with the front line. It’s not a gamble, it’s reality, and we have to face the reality.”
Currently, Arsenal sits in second place in the Premier League, trailing leader Liverpool by seven points.
The London club has not claimed the title since 2004 and has finished as runners-up in the past two seasons.
