Heirs Holdings is excited to share a new leadership appointment, welcoming Chidi Okpala as the Executive Director for Payments, Group Integration & Strategy (PGIS).

In his new role, Chidi will manage the technology and healthcare sectors of Heirs Holdings and work on creating synergies throughout the Group. He’ll also lead the strategy for the payment sector, tapping into HH’s strong background in financial services and tech to make strides in this fast-changing industry.

Chidi comes with over 20 years of leadership experience in financial services, FinTech, telecommunications, and strategy consulting. His career features significant positions at top global and African companies, including Accenture, United Bank for Africa (UBA), and Bharti Airtel International.

He was the Founder and CEO of Airtel Mobile Commerce Holdings (Airtel Money Africa), where he played a key role in launching Airtel Money, which has grown to be one of Africa’s largest digital wallets, boasting over 40 million users across 14 countries.

Before joining Heirs Holdings, Chidi co-founded and led Asante Financial Services Group, a FinTech company that has empowered more than 520,000 MSMEs in Africa with cutting-edge digital financial solutions.

Chidi earned a Sloan Master of Science in Management from the renowned London Business School.
