The changes involved the departure of two of Van Nistelrooy’s assistants, Ben Dawson and Danny Alcock, after a disappointing 4-0 defeat at home to Brentford, which left Leicester in second-to-last place, five points adrift of safety.
This loss marked the sixth consecutive home game in which Leicester failed to score, setting a new Premier League record.
Since taking over in November, Van Nistelrooy has overseen 13 Premier League matches, securing only two victories and suffering ten defeats, putting his position in jeopardy. This is his second senior management role, following a tenure at PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands, and a brief period as interim manager at Manchester United, where he had a successful five-year playing career.
Dawson and Alcock, who were first-team coaches, joined Leicester at the beginning of the season and initially worked under Steve Cooper, who was dismissed in November and succeeded by Van Nistelrooy.
Leicester expressed gratitude to Ben and Danny for their contributions and wished them success in their future endeavors.
