Slot acknowledged a charge stating that he “acted in an improper manner and/or used insulting and/or abusive words and/or behavior towards both the match referee and an assistant referee” after the 2-2 draw at Goodison Park on February 12, according to the Football Association.
In addition to the suspension, an independent Regulatory Commission imposed a fine of £70,000 ($90,000) on Slot, as reported by the FA.
He was issued a red card for his actions after the match and has since expressed regret. The Dutch manager was seen shaking hands with referee Michael Oliver in an aggressive manner and making remarks to the official amid the post-match turmoil, which marked the last Merseyside derby at Goodison Park before the stadium's demolition at the season's end.
James Tarkowski equalized for Everton in the eighth minute of stoppage time, which may have contributed to Slot's frustration, given that only five minutes of added time were indicated.
Slot was among four individuals who received red cards following the match, including his assistant, Sipke Hulshoff, and two players—Liverpool’s Curtis Jones and Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure—after a confrontation that escalated into a brawl involving players, coaches, stewards, and even police officers.
The commission also fined Everton £65,000 ($82,000) and Liverpool £50,000 ($63,000) for failing to ensure that their players and technical staff behaved appropriately following the final whistle.
Hulshoff received a two-match touchline ban and a £7,000 ($9,000) fine for his conduct towards a match official prior to being sent off.
Slot and Hulshoff will not be present in the dugout for Liverpool's upcoming two domestic fixtures, which include Premier League matches at Anfield against Newcastle on Wednesday and Southampton on March 8.
Liverpool currently holds an 11-point lead in the league.
In a statement made two days following the derby, Slot refrained from revealing his conversation with the match officials.
He commented, “The emotions got the better of me and if I look back, I would love to do it differently. I’m hoping to do it differently next time.”
