The Naira, Nigeria's currency, kept climbing against the dollar in the parallel foreign exchange market on Friday. Abubakar Alhasan, a Bureau de Change operator in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, noted that the Naira improved to N1565 per dollar by the end of the day, up from N1570 the day before.

This means the Naira gained N5 against the dollar on Friday compared to the N1,570 rate from Thursday.

On the official foreign exchange side, the Naira finished at N1,500.41 per dollar on Friday, a slight increase from N1,499.98 the previous day, according to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Looking at the overall FX market, the difference between the official and parallel rates has narrowed to N64.59.

BrandIconImage reports that over the past week, the Naira has seen notable appreciation, peaking on Thursday.

The Naira's rise against the dollar might be linked to the Central Bank of Nigeria's FX Code and the extension of FX sales to Bureau de Change operators.
