A Bureau de Change Operator located in Wuse Zone, Abuja, reported that the Naira improved to N1570 per Dollar on Thursday, up from N1590 per Dollar the day before.
This indicates a daily gain of N20, representing the highest appreciation observed since the beginning of the trading week.
Conversely, in the official market, the Naira depreciated to N1,500.65 per Dollar on Thursday, down from N1,499.76 the previous day.
In summary, following Thursday's trading across foreign exchange markets, BrandIconImage noted that the Naira appreciated by 20 at the black market while declining by N0.89 in the official market.
It has been noted that the disparity between the official and parallel foreign exchange markets has been narrowing in recent days.
This situation arises as the Central Bank of Nigeria enhanced its regulatory measures on Bureau de Change operators on Wednesday. The apex bank's Trade and Exchange Department has limited weekly foreign exchange sales to BDC operators to $25,000.
