Schneider Electric has been recognized as the World’s Most Sustainable Corporation for 2025 by Corporate Knights, marking the second time it has achieved the top position in the Global 100 rankings.

As a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, the company previously led this annual list of the most sustainable publicly traded companies, with annual revenues exceeding $1 billion in 2021. This recognition highlights Schneider’s enduring commitment and comprehensive strategy to excel in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.

In response to this achievement, Schneider Electric’s Chief Executive Officer, Olivier Blum, stated:  “For many years now, sustainability has been at the heart of what Schneider Electric does. For an IMPACT company it’s more than just a corporate goal, it’s the driving force that shapes our business decisions and inspires our employees. This second title as the World’s Most Sustainable Corporation from Corporate Knights, alongside other key ESG recognitions, is testimony to the valuable, long-term positive impact we have.”

Mr. Toby Heaps, Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Knights, stated that Schneider Electric's achievement of the top position in the Global 100 index is extraordinary, marking a unique second time accomplishment. This success is attributed to Schneider Electric's extensive influence, extending beyond its internal sustainability initiatives, by providing technology that improves energy efficiency, facilitates decarbonization, and assists other organizations in their sustainable transformations.

This year, Schneider Electric has secured its top position, underscoring the company's commitment to sustainable development practices, including gender diversity among its executives and board members, as well as its innovative approaches to enhancing energy efficiency, electrification, and decarbonization. The company has also received commendable ratings for its initiatives aimed at separating energy consumption and carbon emissions from its business growth, alongside significant investments in sustainable research and development. Corporate Knights highlighted the connection between executive compensation incentives and Schneider Electric’s performance in sustainability and ESG ratings.

The Global 100 index, compiled by the Canadian media and research firm Corporate Knights, relies on publicly available quantitative data concerning resources, workforce, suppliers, sustainable revenues, and investments. The methodology for the Global 100 employs both fixed and variable key performance indicators to rank companies within their respective sectors. Schneider Electric has consistently been included in the Global 100 for the past 14 years, achieving a top 10 ranking seven times, which is a notable accomplishment within the electrical equipment manufacturing sector.

Receiving this recognition in both 2021 and 2025 aligns with the initiation and conclusion of the five-year Schneider Sustainability Impact program. This program evaluates the company's advancement toward a variety of transformative ESG objectives set for the end of 2025, ensuring a steadfast commitment to fulfilling both global and local goals.

Schneider's leadership in sustainability is further validated by the latest evaluations from leading ESG rating agencies.
