Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has revealed that his latest movie, Light in the Dark, was removed from YouTube after the platform flagged a scene as inappropriate. The film, which had garnered over 600,000 views within days of its release, was taken down, leaving fans and the actor disappointed.
Taking to Instagram, the screen icon expressed his frustration but maintained an optimistic outlook, praising his team for their dedication and hard work. Despite the setback, Iyke remains undeterred, emphasizing his resilience and positive mindset.
In a heartfelt post, he addressed his followers, explaining the situation and urging them to rally behind the revised version of the movie, now available on his official channel.
"Hey everyone, the original version of our movie Light in the Dark on JIMIYKE TV was taken down," he wrote. "They deemed one of the scenes inappropriate based on feedback received. It has been challenging, to say the least. Over 600k views accumulated in a few days. The time, effort, and passion my team put into these projects is inestimable. But I’m not deterred. My energy has always stemmed from positivity and a winner’s mentality."
Iyke called on his fans to help revive the project by watching, sharing, and promoting the new version. "A new version is up now, and I need as many people as possible to watch, share, and spread the word," he continued. "If you supported the first one, or if you missed it—this is your chance to help keep the project alive."
Acknowledging the unwavering support of his audience, he added, "We’ve been down this road before. Your support and goodwill win the day eventually. I cannot thank you enough for everything. Every view, every share, and every comment makes a huge difference."
The actor’s appeal highlights the crucial role of fan engagement in the success of creative projects, as he remains hopeful for a strong comeback despite the initial setback.
