Outspoken media personality Toke Makinwa has ignited a fresh wave of discussion by expressing her openness to the possibility of becoming a second, third, fourth, or even fifth wife.

In a recent episode of her popular podcast, "Toke Moments," shared with her Instagram followers on Saturday, the 40-year-old host made the candid declaration with a lighthearted approach. "At this point in my life," she stated, "if I have the opportunity to marry again, as a second, third, fourth, or even fifth wife, I’ll take it."

This surprising statement follows Makinwa's public reflections on her previous marriage to Maje Ayida, which dissolved in 2017 amidst allegations of infidelity. In earlier installments of her podcast, she had openly shared the emotional turmoil and vulnerability she experienced in the aftermath of that relationship, often recounting moments that brought her to tears.

Now, as she enters a new decade, Makinwa appears to be embracing her current reality and challenging conventional societal expectations surrounding marriage and timelines for women. "I am 40, I am single, and I am childless. I said it, and I didn’t die," she asserted, underscoring her newfound sense of self-acceptance.

She further elaborated on her journey, suggesting that perhaps her path has unfolded as it has for a reason. "I used to feel ashamed… But honestly, if I had gotten married again, I would have been divorced again. The lessons don’t stop," she concluded, implying a deeper understanding gained from her past experiences that now informs her perspective on future relationships.

Makinwa's willingness to consider a polygamous arrangement marks a significant shift in her public stance on marriage, particularly given the challenges she faced in her previous monogamous union. Her comments are likely to spark further debate and discussion among her listeners and the wider public regarding societal norms, personal choices, and the evolving perspectives on relationships.
