Veteran Super Eagles forward, Brown Ideye, has officially announced his departure from Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) giants Enyimba FC. The 36-year-old striker shared a heartfelt message on social media platform X, marking the end of his time with the "People's Elephant" following the conclusion of the 2024-2025 NPFL season.

Ideye's move to Enyimba brought a wave of excitement among fans, given his extensive career playing for top clubs in Europe and representing the Nigerian national team. While his tenure was relatively brief, the seasoned forward made a notable contribution, netting four goals in 10 league appearances. His experience and leadership were undoubtedly valuable to the Aba-based club during his stay.

In his farewell message, Ideye expressed deep gratitude to various stakeholders within the club. "To the chairman, staff, my teammates, and fans of Enyimba FC, thank you for the wonderful journey," he wrote. "It’s been an honour to wear the jersey and play for one of the biggest and best football clubs in Nigeria and Africa."

He went on to reflect on the positive experiences he shared with the club, both on and off the field. "As I move on, I’m grateful for the fond memories we created together on and off the pitch, and I appreciate the love, respect and support you all gave me from day one. This club will always have a great place in my heart."

Ideye's departure opens a new chapter for both the player and Enyimba. For the club, it means an opportunity to assess their attacking options for the upcoming season. For Ideye, the future remains to be seen, but his impactful career suggests he still has much to offer to Nigerian football or beyond.
