Luft Pay TV has officially launched its services in Lagos, marking its strategic entry into Nigeria's dynamic and highly competitive pay television landscape. The new player aims to carve out a significant niche by offering what it describes as "accessible, affordable, and locally-relevant entertainment" to Nigerian households.

The launch event, held on Wednesday, drew a diverse audience including prominent media executives, content creators, and key industry stakeholders, signaling the company's intent to build strong relationships within the ecosystem.

Speaking at the unveiling, Mr. Yemi Adebowale, Head of Corporate Communications and Media at Luft Pay TV, articulated the platform's core mission. He stated that Luft Pay TV was developed in response to a clear market demand for high-quality home entertainment delivered at a fair price. Adebowale emphasized that the new service is set to differentiate itself through its commitment to high-definition content, premium children’s programming, and a strong emphasis on indigenous stories.

"This brand is not just delivering television, it is delivering trust, clarity, and connection,” Adebowale affirmed, highlighting the company's foundational values.

Luft Pay TV is simplifying its offering with a single bouquet model, priced at an accessible N7,500 monthly. This subscription grants viewers access to an extensive lineup of over 35 premium channels, spanning a wide array of genres. Subscribers can expect a rich mix of content, including popular sports, the best of Nollywood and Hollywood productions, dedicated children's programming, insightful documentaries, diverse music channels, and engaging lifestyle content.

In terms of hardware, the company has structured its pricing transparently: a standalone decoder costs N25,000, while a full set-top box kit, complete with all necessary accessories, is priced at N35,000. This straightforward pricing model is designed to eliminate the confusion often associated with multiple subscription tiers and hidden charges, thereby offering a more user-friendly experience for consumers.

Adebowale further underscored that Luft Pay TV is a wholly Nigerian-owned brand, deeply committed to fostering and promoting local storytelling. This commitment will be realized through strategic partnerships with indigenous content creators, ensuring that Nigerian narratives find a prominent platform.

The company has already initiated its operational rollout, having commenced installations across various cities and towns in all six of Nigeria's geopolitical zones. This nationwide expansion is supported by a rapidly growing sales and distribution network, aiming to make Luft Pay TV accessible to a broad demographic of Nigerian viewers.
