Renowned Nollywood actor and comedian, Okey Bakassi, has officially taken on a new role as the traditional ruler of Umuihuocha Autonomous Community in Mbaise, Imo State. The popular entertainer, whose full name is Okechukwu Onyegbule, was formally presented to his people in a culturally rich coronation ceremony, which he shared via a video on his Instagram page on Tuesday.

Now bearing the title His Royal Highness Eze Okechukwu Onyegbule, the Okwe II of Umuihuocha Obohia, the actor's installation was marked by vibrant displays of Igbo customs, traditional music, dance, and rites symbolizing leadership and communal trust.

“Special presentation as king (Eze) of Umuihuocha community,” he captioned the video, showcasing moments from the occasion, which included jubilant villagers, traditional leaders, and family members in attendance.

The coronation comes less than two weeks after Bakassi publicly announced his appointment, a development that drew congratulations and admiration from fans and fellow celebrities across the country.

With his new role, Eze Okechukwu Onyegbule is expected to combine his influence as a public figure with traditional leadership duties, becoming a cultural ambassador and custodian of values in his community.
