The annual festival, which takes place a few days after the Eid al-Kabir (Ileya) celebration, is one of Nigeria’s most prominent cultural tourism events. It draws thousands of Ijebu sons and daughters from across the globe, as well as tourists and dignitaries eager to witness the colourful display of culture, fashion, and tradition.
This age-long cultural heritage of the Ijebu has been in existence for about two centuries.
Speaking at the festival’s press conference help at Ijebu-Ode, Akande Olumuyiwa, Group Head, Corporate Communications, SIFAX Group, said the company’s sponsorship is part of its commitment to promoting indigenous culture and recognizing the festival's vast tourism and economic potential.
