According to a statement posted by Tesla on Chinese social media platform Weibo, the project aims to “effectively solve pressures relating to urban power supply” by allowing more flexible allocation of energy resources. The company also noted that once completed, the facility is expected to become the largest grid-side energy storage project in China.
This development is particularly timely, as China accelerates the integration of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind into its electricity grid.
