Love, partnership, and steadfast commitment are the cornerstones of any enduring marriage. Thirty years ago, Senior Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House on the Rock and his beloved wife, Ifeanyi Adefarasin, embarked on a journey that has blossomed into a remarkable testament to these very principles.
Pastor Paul and Ifeanyi Adefarasin are celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary, a significant milestone that highlights their unwavering dedication to each other and their shared ministry. Married in 1995, their union has been blessed with three children, forming a strong family unit at the heart of their lives.
To mark this special occasion, Pastor Adefarasin took to social media, sharing heartfelt reflections on his profound appreciation for Ifeanyi. He lovingly described her as his companion, wife, and unwavering partner in both life and ministry. His message underscored a deep gratitude for her consistent support through three decades filled with shared challenges and a unified purpose.
Redefining Success: A Divine Perspective on Marriage
In his Instagram post, Pastor Adefarasin delved into a thoughtful redefinition of success, contrasting worldly measures with a divine perspective. He wrote, "Dear Ifeanyi, to the world, success is often measured by prominence, ease, and tangible outcomes—the visible fruits of ambition, relentless effort, and societal recognition." However, he emphasized that "in the counsel of God, success takes on an altogether different form. It is the quiet becoming of all He designed you to be, the faithful execution of a divine mandate stewarded with integrity, humility, and a heart yielded to His will."
He further articulated that true success, as defined by God, lies not in outward accomplishments but in the internal transformation and alignment with His eternal purpose. Within this sacred context, he highlighted the invaluable gift of sharing life's journey with "a few true hearts who are deeply committed to you, who stand with you and lend strength to the God-ordained causes entrusted to your care." These individuals, whom he referred to as "real Disciples of Christ," labor alongside them in service to God, their congregation, and the generational destiny assigned to their household.
Gratitude for a Journey of Faith
The cleric also extended his appreciation to the friends and supporters who have walked alongside them throughout the years, acknowledging their crucial role in their journey. Drawing inspiration from the hymn "Amazing Grace," he quoted, "Through many dangers, toils and snares, we have already come. Twas grace that brought us safe thus far…"
He concluded his touching tribute by directly addressing his wife: "Of notable mention is my fellow soldier and long-standing co-parent, companion in marriage, the wife of my youth and my partner at life; dear Ifeanyi, thank you for being a helpmeet through the turns and the transitions. Thank you for walking this long road with steadiness and faith, for standing through the 30 years and for remaining present through each unfolding season. Happy 30th anniversary to you, Still Waters. With love, ‘Deolu.”
Their three-decade journey together serves as an inspiring example of a marriage built on faith, resilience, and a shared commitment to a higher calling.
