In a recent appearance on the Cocktails and Takeaways podcast with Madame Joyce, the Favourite Girl hitmaker shared candid thoughts about her journey toward parenthood and how her vision of motherhood doesn’t necessarily include pregnancy. While she feels strongly that she would make a great mother, she made it clear that she doesn’t intend to carry a baby herself. Instead, she plans for her partner to take on that role.
“I’m at a phase in my life where I’m thinking about having kids,” she said. “I feel like I would be a great mom, but I don’t want to carry the baby in my womb. My partner is going to carry it.”
Darkoo also challenged traditional notions of motherhood, emphasizing that being a mother is more about the nurturing role than biological connections. "Mothering is about loving and caring for a child," she added, underscoring her belief that what matters most is emotional presence and dedication.
The UK-based artiste, who publicly came out as gay in 2024, has often spoken about the emotional liberation she experienced after sharing her truth with her family. She described the act of coming out to her parents—especially her mother—as deeply freeing, saying it allowed her to live more authentically and find happiness on a new level.
Now, as she envisions her future family, Darkoo’s openness reflects the evolving landscape of modern parenting and identity, one that embraces diversity, choice, and agency.
