According to Afod, Oloto began to feel unwell during the service and decided to seek medical help at a hospital located just opposite the church. However, while speaking to the hospital receptionist about his condition, he tragically slumped and died on the spot.
Taking to social media to express his disbelief and sorrow, Afod described the suddenness of Oloto’s passing as a sobering reminder of life’s fragility. In a heartfelt tribute, he wrote:
“Odunayo Olufemi Oloto. I can’t believe you are no more. Your news came to me as a shock. You went to church, complained about it, and went to the hospital opposite your church. You sat down to complain to the receptionist about how you were feeling, but instead died immediately. What a world. Vanity upon vanity. All is vanity. Rest in peace, my friend. It’s a wrap.”
The news of Oloto’s death has rippled through the Yoruba film community, where he was known for his engaging performances and warm personality on set. While details surrounding the exact cause of death remain unclear, the tragic nature of his final moments has left colleagues and fans reflecting on the fleeting nature of life.
As tributes continue to pour in, many in the industry are mourning not just a colleague, but a man whose life was cut short too soon — a reminder, as Afod poignantly put it, that in the end, “all is vanity.”
