Fidelity Bank Plc has restored international usage on its Naira Debit Cards, a development that promises greater convenience for customers who travel, shop online, or require overseas ATM withdrawals. The move, announced by the bank this week, underscores its ongoing effort to deliver seamless global banking solutions tailored to the lifestyle needs of its diverse customer base.

According to the bank, holders of Fidelity Naira Debit Cards can now spend up to $1,000 quarterly on international point-of-sale and online transactions, while withdrawals from ATMs outside Nigeria are capped at $500 quarterly. The reinstatement comes at a time when demand for flexible and reliable cross-border payment options is growing among Nigerians.

Explaining the development, Ifeoma Onibuje, Divisional Head of eBanking at Fidelity Bank, said:

“We are pleased to inform our customers that Fidelity Naira Cards are now enabled for worldwide use. This allows travelers and online shoppers to utilize their Naira Debit Cards internationally without hassle.”

The new limits are designed to complement the bank’s existing suite of foreign currency debit and credit cards, giving customers multiple pathways for conducting transactions across borders. Beyond payments, Fidelity’s VISA cardholders also enjoy exclusive benefits such as airport lounge access, spa privileges via the Visa Airport Companion App, fast-track immigration services, and discounts of up to 20% on SIXT car rentals worldwide.

Obtaining a Fidelity Naira Debit Card has also been simplified. Customers can apply through the Fidelity Mobile App or by visiting any branch nationwide, after which the card can be activated for global use.

Ranked among Nigeria’s leading financial institutions, Fidelity Bank serves more than 9.1 million customers through its digital platforms and 255 physical branches across the country. The bank also operates internationally through its United Kingdom subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited.

Fidelity Bank’s innovations have been widely recognized across the industry. In 2024, the lender won the Excellence in Digital Transformation & MSME Banking Award from BusinessDay Banks and Financial Institutions (BAFI), the Most Innovative Mobile Banking Application award from Global Business Outlook, and Euromoney’s Best Bank for SMEs. Its recognition as the Export Financing Bank of the Year further cements its position as a leader in delivering tailored solutions to Nigeria’s evolving banking landscape.
