According to Henshaw, the truck driver involved in the accident initially fled the scene but was later apprehended thanks to an eyewitness, reportedly a lecturer, who pursued him. She also alleged that the vehicle’s license plate had been removed, adding to concerns about accountability. The police have since taken the truck into custody.
Henshaw urged the Nigerian Police Force to ensure that justice is served, writing on social media: “She is the junior sister to @unusualphyna. Whoever owns the truck should own up. Calling on @PoliceNG @BenHundeyin to make sure justice is served.”
Phyna had earlier turned to social media to appeal directly to Aliko Dangote, accusing the Dangote Group of attempting to shield those responsible for the accident. The incident has also drawn the attention of social media activist VeryDarkMan, who shared a video showing the victim in critical condition while demanding accountability.
The case has sparked public outrage, with many calling for stricter enforcement of road safety laws and accountability from large companies whose vehicles are involved in accidents.
