Lagos PR Stakeholders’ Conference Returns for 12th Edition, to Spotlight Policy Communication, Youth, and Education
As Nigeria seeks sustainable solutions to its development challenges, a timely dialogue is set to unfold at the 12th Lagos Public Relations Stakeholders’ Conference, bringing together influential voices from across sectors to spotlight the critical intersections of policy communication, youth engagement, education, and national development.
Slated for Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the Agip Recital Hall, MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos, this year’s edition is themed “Policy Communication: Youth, Education and National Development”. The event is hosted by the Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in collaboration with Addefort Limited, a leading strategic communications firm.
The conference will assemble key stakeholders from government, academia, media, civil society, and the private sector for robust discussions on the role of strategic communication in shaping and delivering effective policies, particularly in education and youth development—two critical levers of national progress.
According to Dr. Samuel Ayetutu, Chairman of NIPR Lagos Chapter, the 2025 edition aims to “amplify the urgency of aligning communication strategies with inclusive policy frameworks.” He noted that issues to be addressed include policy communication practices, the positioning of education as a core pillar of development, youth empowerment and employment, digital transformation in education, and progress toward Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) relating to quality education.
Echoing this vision, Mr. Olabamiji Adeleye, Lead Consultant and CEO of Addefort, highlighted the widening gap between policy formulation and public understanding. “Effective policy communication builds consensus, accountability, and innovation—especially in education, where youth engagement is non-negotiable,” he said.
The one-day conference will feature keynote presentations, expert panel sessions, and breakout discussions designed to yield actionable strategies. These strategies aim to bridge communication gaps between policy-makers and the public while promoting a culture of transparency and inclusiveness in policy implementation.
Expected dignitaries include Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, Minister of Education; Dr. Ike Neliaku, NIPR President; Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos; and Dr. Aminu Maida, CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission. Others include Mr. Oluwafemi Ogundeji, MD, Vertex Micro Insurance; Mrs. Onome Odili, CEO of Breaking Cycle Africa Foundation; and Lagos State Commissioners Mobolaji Ogundele (Youth and Social Development), Jamiu Tolani Alli-Balogun (Basic and Secondary Education), and Tola Sule (Tertiary Education).
Now in its twelfth year, the Lagos Public Relations Stakeholders’ Conference has established itself as a trusted platform for fostering policy clarity, institutional collaboration, and public trust. It has consistently generated insightful recommendations that inform governance, education, youth development, and national transformation efforts.
Conceived by Addefort Limited, the conference continues to advance the firm’s mission of promoting stakeholder engagement, corporate reputation, and impact-driven storytelling—core ingredients for a responsive and progressive society.
As Nigeria’s development trajectory increasingly hinges on inclusive policy and effective communication, the 2025 conference promises to be a defining moment for dialogue, innovation, and actionable impact.
