According to the latest daily status report released on Monday, August 11, 2025, total disbursements stood at ₦86,347,458,384 as of August 6, 2025. This amount includes ₦47,629,338,384 paid directly to 218 institutions to cover tuition fees, while ₦38,718,120,000 was provided to students as upkeep allowances.
The report also showed that interest in the programme remains high. Out of 731,140 students who have registered on the loan portal, 720,732 have successfully completed their applications — representing a 98% success rate. On average, the dashboard records an additional 933 successful registrations and 1,094 approved applications every day.
NELFUND emphasised that the scheme is aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at expanding access to higher education through sustainable student funding. The fund reiterated its commitment to ensuring that no qualified Nigerian student is denied the opportunity to pursue tertiary education due to financial constraints.
