Taking to Instagram, the Tiannah’s Empire CEO, who has spent more than 25 years styling Nigerian celebrities, revealed that the incident was marked by selfishness and unprofessional behavior, which she strongly condemned.
Lawani explained that despite her reputation for humility and dedication, she found herself confronted with actions she considered harmful to collaboration and progress in the creative space. She emphasized that the values of respect, teamwork, and mutual understanding should guide every professional engagement, particularly in an industry that thrives on collective effort.
“I just had the most traumatic experience of my life. I have been working for the past 25 years as a celebrity stylist. I don’t think I’ve come across such selfishness before in my life,” she wrote. “I’m extremely passionate and I work and strive for perfection and I go far beyond what I’m paid for, but there’s a line between wickedness, ego, and pride. All these must be left at the door when working with others to achieve perfect results.”
Lawani further described herself as someone who treats others with kindness and respect, noting that she expects the same courtesy in return. She lamented the tendency of some creatives to sabotage colleagues, describing it as a “big shame” that undermines the industry’s growth.
