The Galatasaray striker recently met Gökbakar, best known for his blockbuster Recep İvedik comedy film series, and playfully asked if he could be considered for a movie role. “Are you going to give me roles in movies?” Osimhen quipped. The actor responded warmly, “Of course,” before later sharing the conversation with fans online.
Gökbakar’s social media post added fuel to the speculation. Captioning a photo of the Nigerian international, he wrote: “Osi Baba wanted a role in movies. Shall we make a surprise at Recep 8?” The remark immediately drew buzz, with Turkish pop singer Simge Sağın chiming in to praise Osimhen’s personality. She described the football star as “an incredibly good man” and wished him lasting happiness.
For Osimhen, the flirtation with film is not entirely unfamiliar. He has previously appeared in a commercial titled Drawing, giving him a brief taste of acting. A cameo in Turkish cinema would not only broaden his personal brand but also underscore his stature as one of Africa’s most recognizable footballers.
Away from the spotlight of entertainment, Osimhen is beginning to settle into life at his new club. The forward made his first appearance of the new campaign at the weekend, coming on as a second-half substitute in Galatasaray’s 3-0 win over Fatih Karagümrük at Rams Park. Though he did not score, his presence was welcomed by fans eager to see him lead the champions’ attack in their title defence.
