In a candid Instagram post, Ladipo acknowledged that she had harshly judged Savage at the time, placing blame on the singer instead of showing support. She revealed that with hindsight, she now recognises her reaction was misplaced.
“I was one of the people who blasted Tiwa Savage when that s3x tape came out. I’ll be honest. I blamed her. I was like, you know what? How can you be over 40? Cause we are mates and you’re still messing around with people like this,” Ladipo admitted.
She continued: “In hindsight, I wonder why I was blaming her so hard for something that happened to her. I felt her pain. And I just want to say to you, I love you. I’m sorry!”
Ladipo’s statement marks a significant shift from her earlier stance, as she expressed empathy and regret for her past words. She conceded that it was wrong to criticise Savage for a scandal that the singer herself was a victim of.
The controversy dates back to October 2021, when Savage disclosed she was being blackmailed over the intimate video involving her and her partner. The clip eventually surfaced online, sparking widespread debate across social media and drawing both sympathy and criticism from fans and public figures.
With her apology, Ladipo joins a growing number of voices acknowledging the damaging impact of victim-blaming, particularly in cases of privacy violations involving public figures.
