Nollywood actor and filmmaker Tobi Makinde has officially joined the list of engaged stars, delighting fans with the news of his engagement in a warm and emotional post shared on social media.

Makinde, widely known for his comedic role as Timini in Jenifa’s Diary and his work as co-director of the box office hit Battle on Buka Street, revealed that he is set to embark on a new chapter in his personal life.

In a post shared on Instagram on Sunday, the actor expressed his excitement and gratitude, recounting how his partner accepted his proposal months ago.

“Some months ago, the love of my life said YES to me, and I was most delighted. I’m excited for this new journey that I’m about to embark on. Truthfully, it has always seemed very far-fetched, but just like every other BIG step I have taken in life, I sought God’s face, and trust me, He has always led me aright,” he wrote.

Makinde also shared a humorous detail about the proposal, revealing that the engagement ring didn’t quite fit as intended.

“I had only one job, which was to get a ring to fit perfectly, but I blew it and got a bigger size. Anyways, that has been sorted now. Na intention matter pass,” he joked.

He ended the post on a celebratory note, expressing love for his fiancée and playfully announcing his departure from the “single” club.

“I love you, my darling!! PS — I don finally commot for the ‘let the singles breathe group.’ Somebody shout hallelujah.”

Makinde, who recently impressed audiences with his performance as Shina Judah in the blockbuster A Tribe Called Judah (2024), received an overwhelming flood of congratulatory messages from colleagues, fans, and industry friends, many of whom praised his sincerity and wished the couple lifelong happiness.
