Nollywood actress, Sarah Martins, has accused some uniformed officers of assaulting her while she was distributing free meals to homeless individuals in Lagos.
The actress shared her ordeal in a post on Instagram, alleging that the officers—believed to be members of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps, popularly known as Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI)—harassed her, confiscated her cooking equipment, and disrupted her community outreach.
According to Martins, the incident occurred while she was preparing food as part of her regular charity initiative aimed at feeding vulnerable people on the streets. She claimed the officers arrived without provocation and forcefully ended the exercise.
“My heart aches,” she wrote. “Today, as I was cooking free food for the vulnerable and homeless people on the streets of Lagos, like I always do, some uniformed men came there, harassed me, bullied me, and took away the food I was cooking, my cooking gas, and everything I was using. My only offence was serving love on a plate through my healthy meals. I am not a chef, and I do not cook for a living.”
The actress also posted a short video showing a bruised hand, saying she sustained the injury during the encounter. She described the experience as “painful and heartbreaking,” insisting her effort was purely humanitarian.
Martins appealed to relevant authorities to investigate the alleged assault and hold the officers accountable, emphasizing that her outreach was driven by compassion, not profit.
She added that despite the setback, she remains committed to supporting the less privileged and spreading kindness within her community.
