The visit formed part of Davido’s ongoing 5ive Alive Tour and underscored the state’s improving security landscape and rising prominence as a destination for major entertainment events.
Governor Fintiri, while hosting the multi-award-winning artist, described the visit as proof of Adamawa’s progress under his administration. “It was a pleasure to welcome the global star, Davido, to the Government House, Yola. We are particularly glad he chose Adamawa as a key stop on his five-state tour. His presence here underscores our progress and is a testament to our administration’s efforts toward enhancing security and advancing our urban renewal drive,” the governor said in a post on X.
Later that evening, Davido thrilled a capacity crowd at Mahmud Ribadu Square, which seats about 25,000 people. The concert, described by organisers as one of the tour’s most energetic stops, featured a surprise appearance by local influencer and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Sultana Farida Auduson Ibrahim, who joined fans in celebrating the Grammy-nominated star.
With Davido’s Yola concert drawing thousands of excited concertgoers and garnering national attention, the event has been hailed as a sign of Adamawa’s growing cultural relevance and a boost to its image as a safe and welcoming destination for global entertainment acts.
