Afrobeats star Ruger has fired back at critics, declaring that negative remarks only motivate him to work harder and achieve more.
In a fiery post on X (formerly Twitter), the “Asiwaju” hitmaker said he often laughs at the level of disrespect he receives, stressing that hate has become fuel for his growth.
“The disrespect I get sometimes makes me laugh. Like do you expect the negative things you say about me to put me down? That sh*t fuels me, I love it,” Ruger wrote.
“I wanna appreciate the people that take it upon themselves to defend me whenever all these rubbish things are said. Coz I don’t defend myself at all.”
The singer admitted feeling frustrated by those who ignore his career milestones and performances despite his consistent international success.
“Some people act like they don’t see what I do, how much I’ve grown, the stages I kill every year. They want to stick to a narrative. HATERS!!! Y’all are needed in my victory story still, so carry on,” he added.
Tour Success and Global Reach
Ruger, who launched BlownBoy Entertainment in 2024 after leaving Jonzing World, dismissed predictions that his independent career would stall. Instead, he listed an impressive lineup of global performances spanning multiple continents.
“The day I announced BlownBoy Entertainment in 2024, someone said I won’t be touring anymore. Watch this — 2024 I toured Europe, Canada, performed in Australia and New Zealand.
2025 I toured Europe again, America, St. Lucia, Russia, Turks and Caicos, London,” he wrote.
He also revealed plans for an Australian tour in 2026, describing it as proof of his long-term vision and momentum.
“I have already announced my Australian tour for 2026. I don Dey future already,” Ruger said.
Defending His Stagecraft
The singer addressed ongoing criticism of his controversial stage performances involving women, arguing that the same acts are praised when done by others.
“I bring bed on top stage dem talk, but go ahead to praise any other person that brings a girl on stage. From now on you’ll see your girlfriends and aunties on my stage and nothing wey anybody go do,” he declared.
Subtle Jab at Colleagues
Without naming names, Ruger also threw shade at fellow artistes who speak ill of him despite having less global exposure.
“I will never reply to any of my colleagues that run their mouth on my name. Especially the ones that don’t have as many visas as I have on my passport. You all will bend a knee soon,” he wrote.
Confidence in His Rise
Concluding his lengthy post, Ruger affirmed his faith in his journey and his readiness to welcome those who doubt him when his success becomes too obvious to ignore.
“I am the truth and no matter how late some of you realise it, I’ll still accept you with open arms. It is very close. God is good. And I’m RICH AS F3CK. Bye,” he stated.
Ruger’s defiant message comes amid growing attention on his independent career path, which has seen him expand his global fan base while asserting creative freedom under BlownBoy Entertainment.
