American singer and actress Ariana Grande-Butera has revealed that she tested positive for COVID-19 while on tour for the recently released movie Wicked: For Good. The announcement was made on her Instagram page, shortly after co-star Cynthia Erivo shared that she had also fallen ill.

Grande posted a photo from the set of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon with the caption: “Moments before Covid,” confirming her diagnosis to fans.

Despite the infections, both Grande and Erivo completed the promotional tour for the film, which opened on Friday and has already grossed over $238 million worldwide against a production budget of $150 million.

The incident highlights the ongoing challenges of touring and promotional events amid lingering COVID-19 risks, even as the entertainment industry continues to rebound.
