In a video shared on Instagram, Nyeche appeared visibly stunned as she received the plaque, admitting she had never imagined her name would be called in that category.
“I can’t believe I was given an award as the Best Controversial Actress in Nollywood. This one shocked me when my name was announced – the first blur!!” she exclaimed on stage, drawing laughter from the audience.
The actress quickly clarified that she should not be labelled a “celebrity fighter,” noting that controversy is far from the core of her public persona. She dedicated the award to her late mother, Mrs Gold Kechi Nyeche, and expressed gratitude to the organisers, CHEETAHS Paradise, for acknowledging her work in the industry.
Despite her initial disbelief, Nyeche embraced the recognition with joy. Though she is not widely associated with controversy in Nollywood, the organisers deemed her a deserving recipient—an outcome that has sparked lighthearted reactions among her fans.
