Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh disclosed in a statement on Friday that Sammy West was arrested following a petition accusing him of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.
According to the command, the arrest was carried out in Lagos after he allegedly ignored multiple police invitations for questioning.
“He was arrested in Lagos on the authority of a duly issued arrest warrant from a competent court and brought to Abuja for further investigation,” Adeh explained.
The police added that Sammy West has been charged to court on the said offences and remanded pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.
Regina Daniels Reacts
The development has sparked public attention after Regina Daniels posted an emotional video on Instagram on Friday morning, crying and demanding answers over her brother’s detention.
“I feel like I’m losing my mind. It doesn’t make any sense. Every day, I wake up to something new about my brother online. One day they say he’ll be released, the next day there’s another story. I’m tired,” she said tearfully.
The actress accused the police of unfairly holding her brother and linked his arrest to ongoing domestic tensions between her and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the National Assembly.
“What is my brother’s offense? Fighting for his sister because my in-laws always beat me up? I respected the police, but shame on you all! The highest bidder always wins,” she wrote on her Instagram page.
Regina further alleged that her husband was using his influence to target her family members, claiming that the police had also invited her mother, Rita Daniels, for questioning.
“Ned has issued an arrest warrant against me. They’ll arrest me before Monday,” she wrote in another post, sharing screenshots of conversations with her mother.

Reports of alleged marital problems between Regina Daniels and Senator Nwoko have been circulating for weeks. The actress has accused her husband of domestic abuse, while Nwoko reportedly claimed she was struggling with drug-related issues and needed medical intervention.
The couple, who married traditionally in 2019 and have two children, have yet to issue a joint statement addressing the growing controversy.
Meanwhile, the FCT Police Command insists that the matter involving Sammy West is strictly a criminal case under investigation, not a domestic dispute, and that due legal processes are being followed.
As of press time, Senator Nwoko has not publicly commented on the allegations made by his wife and her family.
