Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has finally spoken out on the controversies surrounding her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko, saying she remains focused on raising her children and standing by her mother, Rita Daniels, despite mounting public criticism.
The actress, who has faced renewed scrutiny in recent weeks following viral social media clips and unverified allegations involving her family, took to Instagram on Wednesday to share an emotional video addressing the speculation around her personal life.
In the nearly 10-minute clip, Daniels spoke candidly about her struggles, family challenges, and the emotional toll recent controversies have taken on her peace of mind.
“Tell me why everyone else is sleeping while I can’t. I’m not going to cry. You don’t do that in front of the camera. This means I’m tough, and I’m not crying,” she said, appearing visibly emotional.
Appealing to Nigerians to stop attacking her mother, the actress described Rita Daniels as her “pillar and protector,” revealing that her family had initially opposed her marriage to Nwoko but that she made the decision out of love.
“Hey guys, please stop insulting my mom, I beg you. She’s the best thing that ever happened to me. She’s my God on earth. For seven years, my mom held it down. You all insulted her, but she tried. She warned me. My brothers warned me. Everybody did,” she said.
Daniels also dismissed claims that her mother encouraged the marriage for financial gain, insisting that she had been the family’s major breadwinner before getting married.
“You all should stop saying I got married out of greed. Excuse me — we were not broke! What amount of money can a man give to a mother who already has a child providing for the whole family?” she added.
The mother of two vowed to raise her sons, Munir and Khalifa, with or without her husband’s support, saying she would do whatever it takes to protect and nurture them.
“I’m going to fight for my children. I’ll take them, train them, and raise them with or without your support,” she declared.
Despite her emotional remarks, Daniels said she still holds respect and care for her husband, emphasizing that she is not driven by bitterness but by strength.
“I did fall in love, and I still care and respect him. That’s love — care and respect. The only reason I’m not fighting you, Ned, is that I want Mona and Khalifa’s father’s name to remain strong,” she said.
In the caption accompanying her post, the actress reaffirmed her sense of independence and accountability for her life choices, writing:
“For the record, I don’t regret anything. Na only me carry my leg enter. This was a route I was meant to take — not my final destination.”
Her comments have since stirred fresh conversations across social media, with many fans expressing empathy and support for the young actress, while others commended her for speaking her truth publicly.
