...Warns Against ‘False Narratives’

Tension around the absence of Imade Adeleke at Davido’s 33rd birthday celebration has prompted a firm response from her mother, Sophia Momodu, who has rejected suggestions that she blocked their daughter from attending the event in Atlanta.

Taking to Snapchat, Sophia pushed back against what she described as long-running attempts to paint her in a negative light. She stressed that her priority has always been Imade’s privacy and well-being, warning commentators to refrain from using her child as leverage in online debates.

“You people have been doing this false narrative thing for over 10 years now. And while I try to be as graceful as I can, I’m also a very protective mother. Say whatever you want about me, it’s ok. But leave my child alone. This is non-negotiable. Imade is not a bargaining chip for her mother to conform,” she wrote.

Her remarks came amid online speculation after Davido celebrated his birthday in the United States alongside friends, family, and his daughter Hailey—sparking questions about why Imade was absent.

Sophia also issued a caution to those circulating what she considers misleading or fabricated accounts surrounding her daughter, stating that legal action may be taken against anyone spreading harmful misinformation.

Her response adds another layer to the ongoing public scrutiny surrounding co-parenting dynamics within the singer’s family, with social media once again serving as the battleground for competing narratives.
