In a statement released on Saturday by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Dapo Oke, the university clarified that the reports were false and misleading. “There was neither an invasion of our campus by bandits nor any closure of the institution,” the statement said, urging students, staff, parents, alumni, and the general public to ignore the misinformation.
The statement emphasized that the misleading narrative linked the alleged closure to a “recent invasion of Ijebu-Ode by bandits,” and cautioned stakeholders to rely solely on official TASFUED communication channels for updates.
“We wish to put it on record that at no time did the University Management order the closure of the institution, or issue any directive to students to vacate their hostels at Ijagun or Ijebu-Ode as a result of any form of ‘invasion,’” the university affirmed.
The management reassured the community that student welfare remains a top priority, and both Ijagun and Ijebu-Ode campuses remain peaceful and safe. Academic and administrative activities are continuing as scheduled.
The statement concluded by urging the public to disregard unverified reports that could incite fear or panic and called on staff and students to continue their academic and lawful activities without disruption.
