The controversy surrounding Nollywood actress Doris Ogala and the founder of Grace Nation Bible Ministry, Pastor Chris Okafor, has taken a new turn, with the actress confirming that discussions aimed at resolving the matter are currently underway.
The update follows Ogala’s recent arrest by the Lagos State Police, an incident that drew widespread public attention. According to reports, the actress was taken into custody on Saturday after publicly accusing Pastor Okafor of failing to fulfil an alleged promise of marriage. She was released on Monday afternoon after spending two nights in police custody, during which she claimed the clergyman appealed for a peaceful settlement.
Speaking on the current state of affairs, Ogala disclosed that negotiations and “table talks” are ongoing, noting that she has remained in Lagos to monitor how the discussions unfold. She explained that she wants clarity on the direction and outcome of the resolution process before making any further decisions.
The actress, who had earlier demanded compensation from the pastor, said she intends to seek divine guidance before taking her next steps. According to her, while she has much more to say about the issue, she is being cautious about how she proceeds.
Ogala suggested that the situation is more serious than the public may realise, stating that she has withheld significant details for now. Despite this, she maintained that she does not want the matter to escalate in a way that could cause further harm, stressing her desire to act with wisdom and restraint.
While expressing her determination to eventually tell her side of the story, the actress emphasised that she is not intimidated by threats or potential consequences. For her, she said, speaking her truth remains the priority, even as she places the final outcome in God’s hands.
As of the time of this report, Pastor Chris Okafor has not made a public statement in response to the latest claims. The situation continues to generate debate, with many observers awaiting the outcome of the ongoing discussions.
