Veteran French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will remain with Los Angeles FC after signing a contract extension through the 2026 season, with an option for 2027, the Major League Soccer club announced Thursday.

The 38-year-old has made 91 appearances for LAFC since joining from Tottenham in December 2023 and has quickly established himself as one of MLS’s top goalkeepers, recording 33 clean sheets across all competitions. Lloris also served as team captain during the second half of the current season, reuniting with former Spurs teammate Son Heung-min.

LAFC finished third in the Western Conference standings, but their campaign ended with a narrow penalty shootout loss to Vancouver in the conference semifinals two weeks ago.

Lloris enjoyed a distinguished international career with France, winning the 2018 World Cup and finishing as runner-up in 2022. He played 145 matches for Les Bleus, keeping 63 clean sheets before retiring from international duty in early 2023.

The club will enter next season with a new head coach following the departure of Steve Cherundolo, who announced last April that he would return to Germany.
