Fulham secured a narrow but valuable 1–0 Premier League victory over struggling Nottingham Forest on Monday night, thanks to a first-half penalty from Raul Jimenez that equalled a long-standing league record.

The London side entered the contest determined to avoid suffering three consecutive home league defeats for only the second time since their promotion in 2022. In an otherwise subdued encounter, Jimenez’s calm finish from the penalty spot proved decisive, ensuring Fulham claimed all three points at Craven Cottage.

The match offered little excitement for much of the first half until drama arrived moments before the break. Fulham were awarded a penalty after Douglas Luiz fouled fellow Brazilian Kevin inside the area, giving Jimenez the opportunity to step up. The Mexican striker made no mistake from 12 metres, converting with precision to give his side the lead.

The goal also carried historical significance. Jimenez maintained his flawless Premier League penalty record, scoring his 11th penalty from 11 attempts. He now joins Yaya Touré as the only players in the competition’s history to achieve such a perfect record from the spot.

Reflecting on the milestone, Jimenez said he relishes the responsibility. “I like to have the pressure of the penalties,” he noted. “I have never missed, and I want to continue like that. If more penalties come, I will be there.”

Nottingham Forest showed more intent after the interval and enjoyed spells of possession, but Fulham created the clearer chances. Jimenez and Kevin both had opportunities to extend the lead, though neither could add a second goal.

The result, which marked the Premier League’s final match before Christmas, saw Fulham climb two places to 13th in the table, level on points with Brentford and Newcastle above them. Forest, meanwhile, remain 17th, sitting five points clear of the relegation zone as the season heads into its festive period.
