The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has announced a new date for the maiden edition of its Public Relations, Reputation, Ideas, Concepts and Excellence (PRICE) Awards and Prizes, rescheduling the ceremony to January 25, 2026. The adjustment moves the event from its earlier date of December 7, 2025.

According to the organisers, the postponement became necessary to ensure broad participation, as many key stakeholders have already begun early preparations for the Christmas season. The shift, NIPR said, will allow adequate time for full engagement across the public relations community.

Chairman of the Organising Committee, Israel Opayemi, urged members and partners to note the new date and adjust their plans accordingly. “The NIPR leadership appeals to all stakeholders to take note of the change in date, adjust their calendars and prepare to participate in an event that will not only motivate professionals, practitioners and scholars, but also enhance Nigeria’s global competitiveness in the global public relations ecosystem,” he said.

Opayemi added that the Committee remains committed to delivering a top-tier awards ceremony, assuring that the PRICE Awards will set a new benchmark for excellence when it debuts in January.

A Platform to Honour Excellence in PR

Designed as a credible and enduring platform, the PRICE Awards aim to recognise and celebrate individuals, campaigns, and organisations shaping the evolution of public relations across sectors in Nigeria.

The development of the initiative gathered momentum in September 2025, when NIPR President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Ike Neliaku, inaugurated a 12-member committee to deliver the maiden edition. This followed the Council’s adoption of recommendations submitted by a technical team charged with conceptualising the awards framework.

With the new date confirmed, NIPR says it remains focused on establishing the PRICE Awards as a prestigious industry recognition that strengthens the Institute’s brand equity and promotes excellence within Nigeria’s communication landscape.
