According to Downdetector, reports of outages peaked around 11 a.m. Eastern Time, with merchants unable to access their admin dashboards and process orders. Shopify acknowledged the issue on its official support channel, stating, “We’re aware of an issue with Admins impacting selected stores, and are working to resolve it.”
The disruption comes as Cyber Monday—traditionally the largest online shopping day in the United States—benefits from momentum built during Black Friday and growing use of AI-powered shopping tools. For many small businesses relying on Shopify, the outage posed a risk to sales during the critical holiday period.
Shopify did not immediately provide an estimated time for resolution but assured users that engineers were actively working to restore full service.
