Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has opened up about what she considers deal-breakers in a romantic relationship. In a recent interview with American media outlet Complex, the singer, known for hits like Love Me Jeje, highlighted the qualities she cannot tolerate in a partner.

According to Tems, unfriendly or uncurious partners are major red flags. She explained that the foundation of any relationship is built on genuine interest and friendship between partners. “My dating terms are someone who is not trying to be your friend is a red flag. Anybody that isn’t curious about you is also a red flag. Because what are we doing? Why are we here if you don’t want to know me? If he or she doesn’t want to know more about you, end the relationship,” she said.

Tems described herself as a “lover girl” but admitted that past experiences have made her more cautious in matters of the heart. She emphasized that her current focus is on self-love and personal growth, suggesting that meaningful relationships will follow naturally once she prioritizes her own well-being.

The singer’s candid discussion offers insight into the importance of emotional curiosity and mutual respect in romantic partnerships, a perspective she hopes resonates with fans navigating their own relationships.
