South African breakout star Tyla has capped a landmark year by emerging as Billboard’s biggest U.S. Afrobeats artist of 2025, ranking ahead of some of the genre’s most influential Nigerian acts, including Wizkid, Davido and Burna Boy.

Billboard published its year-end U.S. Afrobeats Songs Artists 2025 list this week, confirming Tyla in the coveted No. 1 position. Her rise reflects the global impact of her chart-topping hits and the broad crossover appeal she has built across pop and Afrobeats audiences in the United States.

Wizkid, Rema, Davido and Burna Boy follow in second through fifth place, respectively—an indication of Afrobeats’ continued dominance in the American market and the staying power of Nigerian artists who have helped define the genre’s international trajectory.

The top ten also features American-Ghanaian singer Moliy, as well as Nigeria’s Asake, Shallipopi, Seyi Vibez and BNXN, underscoring the diversity and expanding footprint of Afrobeats talent resonating with U.S. listeners.

Further down the ranking, Fola, Tems, Olamide, Fido, Ayra Starr, Omah Lay, Chella, Kizz Daniel, Zinoleesky and T.I Blaze occupy spots 11 through 20. The chart concludes with British-Nigerian names Odeal, Young John, Odumodublvck, Kunmie and Ayo Maff—all contributing to the genre’s continued influence across both sides of the Atlantic.

Tyla’s placement at the top of the list signals her growing stature in the global music scene and highlights the genre’s ongoing cultural momentum as Afrobeats continues to expand its reach into mainstream American music.
