First HoldCo Plc has announced a series of strategic appointments to the boards of its subsidiaries, reinforcing its commitment to corporate governance and sustainable growth. The appointments, disclosed in a regulatory filing, come following approvals from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).

“The new appointments are aimed at bringing seasoned professionals with a wealth of experience to the subsidiaries, aligning the group with international best practices in corporate governance,” the company said. “This infusion of leadership talent reflects the First HoldCo Board’s deliberate strategy to make these entities future-ready in both products and service offerings.”

First Asset Management Limited has appointed Ebikabo Williams as board chair. She will be joined by Usman Dantata Jr., Binta Max Gbinije, and Alero Mobola Adollo. Ms. Williams brings extensive experience in capital markets, banking, and consulting. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Warwick University and a Master’s in Financial Management from Southampton University, UK. Between 2002 and 2003, she served as Deputy Manager/Head of Trade & Finance at Citibank Nigeria.

FirstCap Limited will be chaired by Yewande Amusan, supported by Adenike Kuti and Zeal Akaraiwe. Ms. Amusan has over 25 years of experience in finance across both public and private sectors. A graduate of Accounting from Oglethorpe University in the United States, she currently consults for Andersen Global. She previously served as a non-executive director at SunTrust Bank Nigeria and held senior roles at Trust Bank of Africa Limited and Sterling Bank, including Group Head of Retail and Consumer Banking.

First Securities Brokers Limited has named John Akpeki as chairman, with Omolara Adeyemi, Susan Younis, and Kemi Andu-Alausa joining the board. Mr. Akpeki is a corporate lawyer with more than two decades of experience spanning commercial law, regulatory compliance, immigration, entertainment law, and intellectual property.

First Trustees Limited, the group’s trust and estate management arm, has appointed John Lee as chairman, supported by Abiola Alabi, Adebisi Sola-Adeyemi, and Ugochukwu Obi-Chukwu. Mr. Lee has over 40 years of experience in global financial services, covering corporate and institutional banking as well as wealth management across Africa.

Finally, First Insurance Brokers has named Akinola Phillips as board chair, with Ije Onejeme, Folukemi Akinmeji, and Mojisola Cardozo serving as board members. Mr. Phillips currently leads Philronk Facility Management Company and previously served as Group Head of Human Resources and Administration at Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited. He also held a non-executive director role at Forte Oil Plc (now Ardova Plc) between 2012 and 2016.

Femi Otedola, First HoldCo’s chairman, welcomed the new appointees, highlighting their expertise and leadership credentials. “Their proven track records will play a critical role in shaping the next phase of our growth, enhancing stakeholder value, and reinforcing our position as a trusted African leader delivering innovative solutions across diverse sectors,” he said.

These appointments mark a strategic step for First HoldCo as it strengthens governance, enhances operational efficiency, and positions its subsidiaries for sustained growth in competitive markets.
